How We Built IntelyResume: an AI That Tailors Resumes in Under a Minute

It reads a candidate's resume and a target job description, then automatically rewrites the resume to match that specific role — generating a tailored, ATS-friendly resume in under a minute. Since launch, it has processed thousands of resumes.
The Problem
Tailoring a resume to each individual job takes 30–45 minutes by hand — rereading the job description, reordering bullet points, and rewriting summaries to match the language of the role. Most candidates don't have that time for every application, so they send one generic resume to every job. ATS filters and recruiters skim past it, because it doesn't speak the language of the specific role it's being matched against.
What We Built
IntelyResume is a pipeline that parses real-world resumes — including messy, inconsistent formats — to extract a candidate's actual experience. It then analyzes the target job description and uses a large language model to rewrite the resume so it speaks directly to that role. The architecture is model-agnostic, and we run GPT-class models in production for the reasoning quality they bring to understanding both the resume and the job description. The whole process, from upload to tailored output, takes under a minute.
The Hard Parts
Three problems had to be solved well before IntelyResume could be trusted with a candidate's resume.
Truthful Rewriting
The model is constrained to reframe and rewrite presentation only — it never fabricates experience the candidate doesn't have.
Parsing Real-World Resumes
Resumes arrive in inconsistent formats and layouts. The pipeline had to reliably extract structured experience from all of them.
Staying ATS-Parseable
The output has to read naturally to a human while remaining in a format applicant tracking systems can parse correctly.
Results
Under 1 minute per tailored resume, compared to 30–45 minutes manually.
Thousands of resumes processed to date.
